BONDERITE M-NT 2040 is formulated with Titanium/Zirconium chemistry to replace toxic hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) treatments. It works by etching the aluminum surface and simultaneously precipitating a complex oxide film. This film passivates the surface, preventing natural oxidation and ensuring a stable low-contact resistance. The resulting surface energy is optimized for bonding, making it a critical pretreatment step in structural bonding.
